Photographing a wedding is a "get
it right the first time" activity because those special moments are
fleeting and will never be experienced again. But that doesn't also
mean that couples need to spend hundreds (or sometimes thousands) of dollars
capturing those fleeting, precious moments in order to have them professionally
preserved in photos.
I firmly believe that
in photography, as in many other things in life, less really
is more. That is, unlike many high priced professionals who
would much prefer to have people pay them to take such photos,
with the advent of today's high quality, medium-priced film and digital
cameras, professional results can now often be obtained without the
professional price.
As you can see from
this wedding portfolio, obtaining high quality wedding photos doesn't necessarily
mean high cost or the use of a fancy
camera. It's all in the eye of the photographer and how well he or
she uses what they have. All of these photos were shot with 200 speed PhotoWorks
print film and a Pentax Zoom 105-R "point and shoot" camera.
